Categories
Participants must enter their project in one of the two main categories:
Student Project
A project completed as part of a university engineering program in Québec
Entrepreneurial Project
An engineering project aimed at commercialization that is at the idea, prototype, validation, launch or early growth stage.
Each of the two main categories includes three sub-categories, as follows:
Protecting the planet and preserving resources for future generations
This category includes projects aimed at protecting ecosystems, fighting climate change, and promoting the responsible use of natural resources. It covers initiatives related to reducing environmental footprints, advancing the energy transition, ensuring the sustainable management of water, land, and biodiversity, as well as fostering circular economy practices and responsible consumption patterns.
Projects may also focus on strengthening the resilience of communities and environments in the face of environmental crises, protecting marine and terrestrial ecosystems, or transforming cities and infrastructure toward more sustainable models.
Fostering a fair, inclusive and equitable society for all
This category recognizes projects that generate a positive social impact by improving living conditions, reducing inequalities, and advancing fundamental rights. It encompasses initiatives aimed at addressing poverty and hunger, improving health conditions and access to education, providing decent working conditions, and promoting equality among individuals, including gender equality.
It also includes projects that strengthen social cohesion, civic participation, access to justice, and the development of peaceful, inclusive societies that respect human rights.
Imagining and developing sustainable solutions to transform the world
This category includes projects that stand out for their innovative approaches to addressing major sustainable development challenges. It covers technical, technological, social, economic, and organizational innovations that improve existing practices or create new, more sustainable models.
Projects may involve infrastructure, equipment, technological tools, industrial processes, responsible business models, sustainable finance, clean technologies, or solutions that support inclusive economic growth.

A contest that makes a difference
Thanks to the Les Anges du génie prizes, the winners of the first editions were able to propel their projects forward.
The Ange du génie award supported our efforts in the months following the contest and helped us generate more than eight times our revenue.
Windo - ÉTS
Thanks to the Anges du génie Award and the Choix du public Award, we were able to file a patent application in Canada and the United States in early 2025, which was a key milestone in our technological development.
Aquarius - Université de Sherbrooke
The award we received made it possible to purchase various parts for our vehicle, which contributed to our team securing 3rd place at the Shell Eco-Marathon Americas 2025.
Alérion Supermileage - Université Laval
The award marked the first source of funding for the project beyond our personal contributions. It enabled us to consult with experts and served as working capital, significantly speeding up our development.
Halpie Technologie - Université Laval
Beyond financial support, this recognition inspires us by showing that companies believe in our mission.
Bridging the gap to opportunity- McGill
Announcement of Winners
Each project has been evaluated by our Angels, a jury made up of professionals from the fields of engineering and finance.
The finalists will be announced at the Anges du génie Gala, which will be held on November 20 starting at 5:00 p.m.
