Gervais Soucy is a Chemical Engineering graduate of Université Sherbrooke (1988). Determined to devote himself to teaching and engineering economic analysis, he started his career as Teaching Assistant for Université Sherbrooke. Meanwhile, he continued his studies until he received a doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering (1992). Afterwards, he became Assistant Professor (1992-1996), Associate Professor (1996-2000) and then Full Professor (2000-onwards). Besides his teaching role, Mr. Soucy was Director of the Chemical and Biotechnical Engineering Department for Université de Sherbrooke for 3 years (2005-2008). He sat on the Retirement Committee of Université de Sherbrooke for five years (2000-2005) and recently renewed his participation (Novembre 2011). In 2006, he chaired the 56th Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference.
Since 2003, Mr. Soucy has been involved with Gestion FÉRIQUE and sits on the Investment Monitoring Committee, which he chaired from 2011 to 2014. He brings to the organization a wide knowledge of engineering, a passion for research and a great involvement within a great variety of professional institutions and learned societies.
