FÉRIQUE Fund Management founded in 1999, is a mutual fund manager. FÉRIQUE Investment Services, the principal distributor of the FÉRIQUE Funds, is a mutual fund dealer and financial planning firm created in 2006 to provide investor services. FÉRIQUE Fund Management and FÉRIQUE Investment Services are non-profit organizations whose mission is to accelerate the financial independence of Quebec’s engineering professionals.

To encourage the up-and-coming generation of engineers and to further the practice of engineering across Quebec, the organization is launching this year a competition for engineering students attending Quebec universities. The competition gives them the opportunity to win up to $10,000 to finance their student projects.

A number of prizes will be awarded.

Receipt of applications

1. Applications must be received by the specified deadline at the email address provided. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in automatic rejection of the application.
2. Applications must be submitted in electronic format for distribution to the members of the selection committee.
3. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Please note that, to be considered complete, an application must include, at a minimum, the contact sheet, the project description and the detailed budget. 

Process and selection committee
Selection involves two steps:

1. A FÉRIQUE Fund Management committee will review the applications to preselect a number of finalist projects.  
• Verification of the application’s compliance with the eligibility criteria;
• Evaluation by the selection committee according to the evaluation grid.
2. The representatives of the finalist projects will be invited to defend their projects before a jury composed of four members, namely Les Anges.

Prizes
A number of prizes of up to $10,000 will be presented, and the awards evening will be broadcast on March 8, 2023. 

Announcement of finalist projects

1. During the week of January 30, 2023, FÉRIQUE Fund Management will contact, by phone or email, the students who submitted the finalist projects to inform them that they have been selected to take part in the award evening.
2. The decisions by the selection committee are final and without appeal.
3. Within seven (7) days of the call, the finalist undertakes to provide the names of the students who will be the official project representatives at the awards evening.
4. The finalists will be required to take part in the recording and commit to promoting it.

Preparation of a video presenting the finalists
FÉRIQUE Fund Management will ask the finalists to provide material for a promotional video that will be screened at the awards evening. 
Applicants must submit the following material by February 15, 2023:

• A short video presenting their project (MP4 format);
• Photos, if applicable.  

Participation in the awards evening
A representative of the project team must be present during the judges’ deliberations, which will take place on February 22, 2023. The deliberations will be recorded and broadcast on Facebook Live on March 8, 2023 (time to be confirmed).

More information will follow on the time and place for the filming of the awards night on February 22. The winners of the grand prize must provide a thank-you video explaining how they will use the sponsorship funds.
